Thanks again. Post by sieg » Tue Mar 06, pm Yeah, welcome aboard! Grey Elf's D20 conversion should fix you up for anything in the D20 market. Post by tcabril » Tue Mar 06, pm This is the coolest news - because Most feats I treat as monster abilities. Swirl it all together. Post by serleran » Wed Mar 07, am Conversion from nearly every game is a snap. There are a few Amber Diceless and the like that can be a tedious chore Since its 20, I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title.

Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with Sounds obvious to me! Just curious. Post by serleran » Wed Mar 07, pm Depends on the edition, there Or, say "so what? Doing it in reverse gives the same result I don't see the problem. I've only made my way through "D" so far, and I've noticed two things: First, there is no standard system for determining damage dice.

The second thing is the disparity between spells with damage and those without. Yeah, I can see that as being very awkward to represent in the database format. I'm not super surprised by that situation. Thank you for informing us on your investigatory work! Brief update: currently at 1, spells recorded and some of the preliminary analysis is At the current rate of transcription, I expect I'll be finished by this coming Christmas.

It's done! A little later than expected, but it's finally done. You can find it here and my rant about the work is here. Hey that's awesome, thanks for sharing it!

The CSV file is really useful. Do you have a similar CSV file for the priests spell compendium? Charlie, thanks for the comment.

Unfortunately I don't have one for the Priests books. That's not something I've owned or pursued. Now I can't remember if I saw someone else with that somewhere online? Maybe not. AronBC, thanks for that. Wish that had full detail like our index here, instead of just a list of spell names per sphere. Compiling The Index One thing I'm not alone in searching for in the past is a digitized index of those spells to possibly use for analysis and input to software applications.

James Rizza at Dragonsfoot made what seems to be the first attempt at this here. We should be very grateful for that work I'm pretty sure it was all manually entered, including schools, ranges, durations, material component listings, etc. The most glaring is that every spell was entered multiple times, once for each school of magic to which it belongs. That runs up against the cardinal rule of database management, that is, to not duplicate the same data in multiple places -- because every copy is another opportunity for errors to creep in, fields to fall out-of-synch, etc.

It makes it impossible to gather vital statistics on the work, starting with simply knowing how many different spells there are. I'm sure that was done to enable sorting by school, which was an important mechanic for 2E specialty spellcasters, but an immensely better way to do that would be to use the spreadsheet FIND function appropriately.

Chaos, law, travel, and war domains all reappeared in 3e. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time.

These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed.

These will never become PoD; therefore, you are wasting your time in waiting. You must find and purchase any and all out of print items such as these through Amazon, eBay, and etc. That is just the way it is. I mean the Book of Artifacts is offered, which I bought This pdf is of the first printing, so contains the spell Mindkiller, which was replaced on the 2nd Printing with the different spell Mind Tracker.

I echo Bruce L's comment, hardback or even a softbound option for this would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Would love to see this book in POD, hard cover Some of the spells in this book are real "sleepers": they seem like nothing, until you have a player using them in your games!

Take, "Thought Capture", for instance. I have a player running a Cleric of a thief god. He focuses on gaining information. He went into a dungeon, found the big bad guy's private bedroom, and used this spell He used it repeatedly, to pull as many of the bad guy's thoughts out of the air, as he could. He learned a very great deal about his opponent: his class, an idea of what his goals were, and his plans.

The same player decided that he wanted to research a higher level version of this spell: he wanted to be able to "browse through" the laundry list of thoughts, with one casting, not one for each thought hanging in the air, waiting to be grabbed! I made it 4th level, to control See more and limit its frequency of use in the game, but it really puts me on the spot, and it gives him a treasure trove of information.

He used it in a cavern which had a year-old corpse: he learned the skeleton's final thoughts, and how he died on that spot, as these were the strongest thoughts hanging in the air. It was a bit surreal, but it was also a lot of fun, for me as the DM to come up with this stuff, on the spot, and for him to look at the aftermath, of a murder scene, committed years ago.

This is another spell the same PC Cleric has access to. He uses it for instantaneous travel, without the risks of the Wizard's Teleportation spells minor aging is possible -- another fantastic reason why the DM needs to keep careful track of time, within the campaign Love this book! Will not play a Cleric without it! The book also contains around 25 pages of new magic items. It has updated tables in the back, listing all of the Spheres, and spells within them.

I consider it to be a 'core' rule book, every bit as critical as the PHB. Panagiotis K. Essential for the spell casting characters, priests especialy. Very good efford. The additional rules are adding complexity, but they can be used as invitation for further rules customizing.

Good purchase!!! Jacob S. Decent scan quality, and lots of good ideas for spells divine and arcane and magic items. In all, an excellent resource, especially if you'd like to experiment with alternate magic systems like the wild, elemental, and quest magic presented within.

John T. Love the stuff of Wild Magic it has inproved my campain world 10 fold [ Curtis C. These bood are awesome and i will be buying more in the future thanks [ See All Ratings and Reviews. Browse Categories. New Year, New Campaign Sale.
